The Firm

We are a leading bookkeeping, accounting and advisory firm located in Brisbane, with brand-new offices in Milton. Our integrated suite of services helps high-growth businesses feel more in control and supported throughout their business journey.

As a Business Services Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the delivery of exceptional accounting and advisory services to our diverse client base. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled professional looking to advance their career in a dynamic and client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of dedicated professionals, including our in-house and offshore accountants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality business services to clients.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on matters relating to taxation, accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, income tax returns, BAS/GST returns, and other compliance-related documents.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and providing strategic advice to support their business growth and financial success.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the organization to ensure seamless integration and delivery of services across various business lines.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, accounting standards, and taxation laws to ensure compliance and provide accurate advice to clients.
  • Provide mentoring and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity within the Tax division.
  • Actively participate in business development activities, including networking events and client acquisition initiatives.

Criteria to be successful in this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CA or CPA qualified.
  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in a public practice role within a reputable accounting or advisory firm.
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian taxation laws, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of successfully managing and motivating a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional client service.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to clients and team members.
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software preferred (Xero Tax, Xero Workpapers and Xero Practice Manager)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
